Pune hosted lakhs of warkaris as the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj palkhis halted in the city on their way to Pandharpur. The annual توقف drew large devotional gatherings and prompted extensive civic preparations across multiple locations.
Schools, community halls and open grounds were converted into temporary shelters to accommodate the pilgrims. Volunteer groups and charitable organisations also stepped in to provide food, rest areas and other basic support during the halt.
Civic authorities arranged sanitation services along with health-related assistance for the visiting devotees. Physiotherapy support, food distribution and medical camps formed part of the wider effort to manage the large influx in an orderly manner.
The Pune Municipal Corporation also introduced wellness hangars and a complaint-linked system to monitor toilet facilities during this year’s arrangements. The measures were aimed at improving comfort and service delivery for pilgrims during their stay in the city.
